Programs

Mental Health and Wellness Programs

Part of AdZU’s Mission and Vision is to ensure that its learners experience holistic formation. Not only are they to hone their academic prowess and apply the Ignatian values taught to them in real life, they must also be enriched both in mind and body.

To achieve this, the AdZU Infirmary has set up a number of Mental Health and Wellness Programs for students. These programs offer student applicants an outlet to manage stress and the chance to adopt a healthier mindset and a more active lifestyle and routine. Students simply need to undergo a medical clearance process to qualify in any of these programs.

The programs also maximize the use of the school’s sports and fitness facilities such as the Sauras Fitness Center gym, located at the top floor of the Sauras Building, which offers standardize apparatuses and exercise equipment for students to use throughout the duration of their chosen programs. There are also other facilities such as the Multi-Purpose Courts 1 and 2, the AdZU Backfield, and the Lantaka Pool to cater to their specific fitness needs.

The Mental Health and Wellness Programs are as follows:

Weight Reduction/Training Program

Proper weight and a sound physique lessens one’s chances of acquiring diseases. Through the Weight Reduction/Training Program, students can enjoy regimens that will help them achieve their target weight and be given easy-to-learn exercise set-ups to further shed those unwanted pounds.

Dance fitness Program

Free your body and express yourselves through the power of dance. With the Dance Fitness Program, students can utilize dance performances to compliment with their fitness requirements. It is a fun and healthy way to relieve stress and get one’s body in motion.

Yoga

Clear your mind, relax, and be one with your spirit. With our expert trainers, students can go through a calming and soothing routine through the art of Yoga. This is perfect for those who prefer a more gentle approach to exercise and physical workouts.

Muay Thai

Kick and punch your way to a healthier lifestyle. The Muay Thai program invites students to channel their inner strength and unleash their spirit through the teachings of this age-old martial art. With expert trainers guiding applicants, you can be sure to have an exhilarating and motivating experience.

Swimming

Have a full-body workout with our Swimming Program. Doing laps around the pool is a great way to improve your core fitness, respiration, and stamina. Plus, students can enjoy AdZU Lantaka’s pool facilities. Learn this vital life skill with the ocean by your side at the Lantaka Campu

Health Awareness and Prevention Programs

The AdZU Infirmary also offers Health Awareness and Prevention Programs that aim to inform students about prevalent illnesses that usually affect their age bracket and lifestyle. Through these programs, students can gain valuable tips and vital action points that will help them in facing these illnesses. This is in line with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)’s mandate to make these programs available for students every semester through the efforts of the school’s official infirmary.

The Health Awareness and Prevention Programs are as follows:

HIV-AID’s Prevention
With today’s youth exploring their identities and participating in more high-risk health activities, information on HIV-AID’s Prevention is needed now more than ever. Arming our students with the right knowledge on this dangerous disease can truly help save lives.

Substance Abuse Prevention (Alcohol and Tobacco/Smoking)
Stresses in school can lead to students latching on to destructive vices. Through the Substance Abuse Prevention program, students can be better guided in terms controlling their use of alcohol and smoking items. Curb addictions now before they become out of control in the future.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is a widespread disease in the Philippines with 12% to 16% of the population infected with it. Lack of proper education and awareness of this disease can increase those numbers. As such, AdZU Infirmary’s Hepatitis B Program ensures that our students are fully informed about the dangers of this disease and be given proper guidance on its prevention.

Pulmonary Tuberculosis

DOH has cited TB to be another of the country’s most deadly disease. Even though it is curable with the right drugs and early detection, many still succumbed to it. As with Hepa B, the AdZU Infirmary also strives to instill in our students not just awareness, but also proper guidance in protecting themselves from the disease.

Health- Help Desk

For students who need further evaluation and management, the University infirmary can facilitate referrals through their Health-Help Desk. There will always be students who require extra guidance and special care to cater to their unique needs. With the AdZU Infirmary’s extensive network of experts and specialists, these students can be led to the best health services and programs that can tailor-fit their respective needs.
