SED brings Regional Pre-Service Teachers’ Convention in participating schools

The School of Education has once again spearheaded the annual Regional Pre-Service Teachers’ Convention. With the theme, “Scaling Up the K to 12 Curriculum”, this 16th convention sought to orient student-teachers with the K to 12 Curriculum and Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) and educate them with the current pedagogical theories and innovations in the following subject areas: English, Filipino, MAPEH, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Values Education. One of the highlights of the convention was the teaching demonstration competition to give recognition to pre-service teachers with exceptional teaching skills.

As part of the AdZU Centennial Celebration, the School of Education brought the convention to Zamboanga del Sur in partnership with J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) and to Jolo, Sulu, through Notre Dame of Jolo College (NDJC) to cater to more participants, unlike in the previous years where the convention was held in AdZU.

The convention in Zamboanga del Sur was held at Farmer’s Haven, Dao, Pagadian City from November 22 to 24. There were 323 registered participants from ten campuses of JHCSC and Blancha College in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur. The convention in Jolo was held at NDJC campus from December 6 to 8 with 75 registered participants from NDJC, Sulu State College and Mindanao State University–Jolo.
