MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY
RE: SCHOOLS SERVING SOCIETY FORUM
In celebration of our centenary year, we are having a Presidents’ Forum that will bring together Presidents and top-level administrators of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country particularly in Mindanao. This event, dubbed as “Schools Serving Society: Top-Level Action Agenda of Higher Education Institutions for Mindanao Peace and Development” will be held at the Garden Orchid Hotel starting today until 18 January. His Excellency Benigno Simeon C Aquino III will be the Guest Speaker.
This is the first time President Aquino is visiting Zamboanga City after his election. We tried to invite him to our campus, but due to his limited time and tight security this could not be possible.
I would like to thank Fr Albert E Alejo SJ and his team, mostly from the Social Development Cluster, President’s Project Office and High School, for organizing this big event, and the Physical Plant Office led by Mr Mario S Rodriguez. In keeping with our new vision and mission statement, we hope to partner with various HEIs for a better Mindanao in the future.
