About Us

The Quality Assurance and Strategic Management Office (QASMO) was established in February 2023, with Dr. Evelyn G. Chavez appointed as its founding director. QASMO’s primary role is to collaborate with various units, departments, and offices across the units in the institution to ensure that internal quality assurance mechanisms, procedures, and processes are in place and that quality standards are met, all while aligning with the university’s strategic goals and directions. Furthermore, QASMO liaises with external quality accreditation bodies to maintain compliance and enhance organizational performance, with the primary goal of positioning Ateneo de Zamboanga University as a premier educational institution of quality in Region 9 and Mindanao. To ensure continuous quality assurance in the institution, the office aims to:

  1. Implement programs that support a culture of continuous improvement and quality as
    a way of life in the university;
  2. Introduce systems of internal evaluation for accountability and continuous
    improvement of programs and processes;
  3. Provide evidence-based feedback, advice, and support to strengthen QA and Strategic
    Management systems and processes across the units;
  4. Establish links and networks with internal and external stakeholders for operational
    and strategic purposes;
  5. Participate in collaborative works (e.g., accreditation) of CHED, DEPED, PAASCU, and
    other QA agencies.
