PAASCU Conducts Resurvey Visitin ADZU JuniorHigh School
The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School welcomed the team of accreditors from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) for the resurvey visit on August 3 and 4.
Ateneo High School is currently Level 2 accredited and seeking re-accreditation during this year’s visit. PAASCU is a private, voluntary, non-profit and non- stock corporation that accredits academic programs based on commonly accepted standards of quality education.
Dr. Cynthia Arcadio, Chair, PAASCU Commission on Basic Education and Ms. Jocelyn Mabaylan, PAASCU representative with six other accreditors visited the Kreutz campus to evaluate the high school unit on the areas of Administration, Faculty, Curriculum and Instruction, Library, Laboratories, Physical Plant, Student Services, and School and Community.
Fr. Stephen T. Abuan, SJ, Principal of the Ateneo Junior High School, said that the PAASCU is good for the school because it provides us a common vision of what we would like to attain… and hopefully resulting in the same outcome: the vision of a new Mindanao at the heart of the new Philippines.
The entire Junior High School community poured a lot of hard work to prepare for this visit: responding to the recommendations of the previous visit, the self-survey analysis and evaluation per area, write up and editing of reports, cleaning of the campus, and the several meetings held with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
The results of the PAASCU visit will be released first quarter of next year.
With this resurvey visit, the whole Junior High School community looks forward to greater improvement in its programs.
