RE: NATIONAL CHAMPION IN INTERCOLLEGIATE GENETICS QUIZ

I am happy to inform the community of the commendable achievement of our senior BS Biology students during the 9th National Intercollegiate Genetics Quiz held on March 16, 2019 at the Umali Auditorium, SEARCA, UP Los Baños.
From among the 11 teams fielded by different universities all over the country, AdZU emerged Champion. UP-Manila was first runner-up and Ateneo de Manila University was second runner-up.
The competition was a rigorous whole day event composed of three rounds: the Individual Exam Round, Initiation-Elongation Round, and the Termination Round. The questions covered the different branches of Genetics which included Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, Evolutionary Genetics, Developmental Genetics, Qualitative and Quantitative genetics, and Population Genetics.
I congratulate the AdZU Team composed of, RAY JOSHUA D MACROHON, ADZHAR I TIPLANI, NAJWA HIND B MOLINA) and their coach, DR JOCELYN D PARTOSA of the Natural Sciences Department.
