With joyful reverence, I join our Muslim community in the meaningful observance of Amun Jadid (Islamic New Year).
This significant day marks the beginning of the Hijri year, that is, the Islamic calendar.
May this day allow us to reflect on our accomplishments, struggles, and challenges that we have overcome by God’s grace in the previous year.
May we also remain steadfast on the path of righteousness and be closer to God as we look not just at what but Who brings us together in identity and mission. May this month be the beginning of new opportunities and possibilities as we pray for a hopeful future, good health, lasting peace, and a fruitful New Year.
