RE: DATA BREACH INCIDENT
As reported in the news, AdZU was among the subjects of the April 1 cyber-attacks perpetrated by a local group. This resulted to the defacement of one of the web pages and exposed several online databases hosted by the University website. The affected databases have no critical institutional or personnel information. However, some contain names and other information of participants of seminars and activities of external web clients, outdated inventories, and dummy accounts used for testing purposes.
The Center for Information Technology Services (CITS) has resolved this matter already and is putting in place measures to strengthen further our systems and networks in order to prevent future incidents.
I am also enjoining the members of the University community to follow strictly our data protection protocols and to report immediately any data security breach or threat to the following:
