Community Orientation and First-Day Feeding of Comida para Vida in Pasobolong

In a united effort to combat child malnutrition and promote food security, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University – Center for Community Extension Services (AdZU-CCES), in partnership with the Barangay Council of Pasobolong, successfully launched the Comida para Vida feeding program on March 18, 2025. The initiative aims to provide nutritious meals to 50 child beneficiaries, ensuring their healthy growth and well-being.

The program commenced with a community orientation, where parents and stakeholders were introduced to the objectives and long-term benefits of Comida para Vida. The session emphasized the importance of proper nutrition, active community involvement, and sustainable health practices, fostering a deeper understanding of how the program supports child development and overall wellness.

With the unwavering support of Barangay Captain Romel Francisco, Kagawad Gilbert Bernardo, the Barangay Health Center, and the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), the first day of feeding was a success. The children received well-balanced meals designed to provide essential nutrients for their physical and cognitive development. The participation of local health workers and community leaders reinforced the program’s mission of creating a healthier environment for children in Pasobolong.

The feeding program will continue in the coming weeks, strengthening AdZU-CCES’s dedication to uplifting communities through health, nutrition, and social development initiatives.

With strong partnerships and active community participation, Comida para Vida aspires to leave a lasting impact on child health and nutrition in Barangay Pasobolong.

Through this initiative, AdZU-CCES reaffirms its mission to serve vulnerable communities, ensuring that no child is left behind in the fight against malnutrition. The success of Comida para Vida serves as a testament to the power of collaboration and shared responsibility, paving the way for a healthier, more nourished generation.
