CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION

Admission to the colleges is open to qualified young men and women. There is no discrimination. Capable students from various religions and ethnic backgrounds are all welcome.

Admission for all courses is determined principally by the results of the Admission Test for Colleges and Universities (ATCU). The ATCU is intended primarily for the selection of students who have the potential for college work. It consists of subject proficiency tests in English, Math, Science, Inductive Reasoning as well as mental ability tests.

In addition to ATCU qualification, the BS Nursing, BS Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Secondary and Elementary Education, and the BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering programs require a minimum HS General Average of 80.00.

Bs Biology program requires a minimum HS General Average of 83.00.

Nursing applicants must also be physically fit. Otherwise they may be asked to get into their second or third choice for their degree program. Because of limited space in certain courses, applicants must indicate a second and third choice for their degree programs.

SPECIAL NOTES FOR ACCEPTED APPLICANTS
Qualified freshmen are required to submit the following during registration: high school report card, certification of good moral character, the ATCU test result, and a photocopy of applicant’s birth certificate.

Those accepted in Nursing for the freshmen year must get a weighted percentage average (WPA) grade of 83.00 or above during the second semester and must qualify in the interview, physical examination and the Nursing Aptitude Test (NAT) in order to proceed to their sophomore year.

TRANSFER APPLICANTS
A small number of transfer students is accepted into the college each semester. Admission is determined by the results of the Admission Test for Colleges and Universities. Transfer students must present the following after qualifying in the admission test: honorable dismissal, certification of good moral character from the school last attended, transcript for evaluation or informative copy of subjects taken, the ATCU test result, and a photocopy of applicant’s birth certificate.

To obtain an Ateneo diploma, a transfer student is required to have a residence of at least three (3) years in the Ateneo, with a minimum load of 21 units per semester, inclusive of summer.

Transfer applicants for BS Computer Science & BS Computer Engineering must have a cumulative college WPA of at least 83.00 and must not have any college mark below 75.00.
