Christmas Greetings!!!
Christmas is around the corner and all of us are excited about it. Yet, in the midst of our Christmas preparation, the news of massacre in Maguindanao, the rampant kidnappings and other Mindanao issues on peace dampen our celebration. We are even tempted to throw the towel and give up the fight for peace and progress in Mindanao. But “giving up” is not our option but “to move on and continue our advocacy … to continue giving without counting the cost as St. Ignatius would remind us. Where do we get hope now?
The Advent Season is a time for us to pause for a moment, reflect and realize that God knows our inner struggle. He knows our feelings. But even Himself cannot throw the towel and give up on us, on our sins and limitations, because He loves us much. This Advent season, let’s renew our commitment to peace. Let the season be a reason for renewal as we look again how God Himself gave his only begotten Son to save us. God is so hopeful in us and loving that He gave his Son as a sign of His unwavering hope and faith in the beauty within us that we need to rediscover.
Advent is a season of hope.
Don’t throw the towel yet, God has still lots of surprises stored for us,
All He is asking is to believe.
