MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE : CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 2017
Christmas,
as many of us now know it, is a time of celebration, gift-giving and
feasts. The first Christmas, however, is
about the struggles and sacrifices of Mary and Joseph to prepare for the birth
of Jesus, our Savior. Let us,
then, celebrate Christmas not only as a
time to rejoice with family and friends, but also as a time to reconnect with
God and reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ as the
embodiment of His unending mercy and love for us.
As
President, I feel continually blessed and deeply grateful for so many
reasons: the AdZU men and women of the academic, social
development, formation and central services units whose loyalty and hard work maintain our brand of excellence; the parents of our students and the
alumni whose support and cooperation inspire us in our programs and projects;
and our benefactors and friends whose generosity sustains our drive to carry on with our
University’s mission.
Thus,
I take this opportunity to thank
everyone for your magis and animo in your work,
and your
cura personalis for the University and for one another which
made 2017 a good year for us despite the many challenges.
During
this time of faith, family, and festivities, I
invite our community members to live out the true meaning of Christmas
by offering prayers for the families and loved ones of those afflicted with
illnesses and those affected by conflicts and disasters, and to reach out and
extend to them whatever assistance we can afford.
Felices Pascua y Prospero Año Nuevo!
FR KAREL S SAN JUAN SJ
University President
