A two-day seminar-workshop titled “Teaching Enhancement and Empowering Educators: Curriculum, Strategies, and Lesson Design” was held on October 4–5, 2025, organized by CCES, at the Autogrill Barbeque and Restaurant Conference Room in Zamboanga City. The event aimed to strengthen Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED) teachers’ capacity in curriculum mapping, effective teaching strategies, and lesson design to promote continuous student progress. This highlights CCES’s commitment to enhancing education in Indigenous Peoples communities.
The workshop was attended by 19 IPED teachers: seven from Monte Central Indigenous Peoples Elementary School, led by Mr Rolando T Bernardo; eight from Campo Uno Indigenous Peoples Elementary School, led by Mr Roldan A Torino; and four from Simariki School for Indigenous People.
Facilitated by Dr. Liza Garrido of the School of Education and Ms. Mary Grace Forniza of the Grade School, the sessions provided practical tools for designing effective, culturally relevant lessons. The success of the event was made possible through the collaboration of the School of Education, DepEd IPED Focal Person Ms. Norma Francisco, and funding support from Assisi Development Foundation Inc.
