The Research Laboratory under the Computer Science (CS) Department has been successfully expanded and renovated. The blessing ceremony took place on April 7, 2025, at Room C312, attended by administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
The ceremony was solemnly officiated by Fr. Rene Tacastacas, Vice President for Higher Education (VPHE), with Fr. Richard Ella, Vice President for Administration (VPA), as guest. It marked a meaningful moment, especially for the students, faculty, and staff of the CS Department, as the improved space will greatly enhance the teaching and learning experience.
Following the blessing, the CSITE community gathered for a short program to express appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the expansion and renovation possible. Dr. Jocelyn D. Partosa , Dean of the College of Science, Information Technology, and Engineering (CSITE), conveyed her gratitude for the administration’s continued support and acknowledged both former department chair Ms. Jessica Partosa and current chair Ms. Fe Grace Cañedo for their efforts and leadership. She emphasized that this initiative’s success resulted from strong collaboration within the department and college.

Ms. Fe Grace Cañedo also shared heartfelt words, thanking the administrators, faculty, and especially the students who patiently endured the limited space. She highlighted the unwavering support of Dean Jocelyn and the persistent push from Ms. Jessica that made this vision a reality.
Two third-year student representatives, Ms. Cristel Jade Tan from BS Information Technology and Mr. John Eriko Lim from BS Computer Science, spoke about how the research lab will be instrumental in their academic journey. They both expressed excitement and gratitude for a space that fosters collaboration and innovation.

The event concluded with simple snacks and conversations, but for the CS Department, this marks the beginning of greater things ahead. With the newly expanded and improved research laboratory, the department is even more committed to creating a meaningful impact in the community. Congratulations to the CS Department for this milestone!
