Representing the Ateneo de Zamboanga University were Kristina Claire Madrazo (12 – Hopkins), Dheliane Jae Coloso (12 – Hopkins), and Kyla Anna Sabtal (11 – O’Malley). The students were trained by Coach Ma. Asuncion Plaza of the SHS Unit.

Held annually to highlight the importance of preserving the Chavacano heritage among the youth in Zamboanga City, the Dia de Fundacion de Chavacano is celebrated by the City Government of Zamboanga. The event also seeks to celebrate the foundation of the Chavacano language alongside the creation of the cornerstone of Fuerza de San Jose, now called Fort Pilar, every June 23 since 1635.
