Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU), in collaboration with the Social Development Office (SDO), the Center for Community Extension Services (CCES), and DOST-9 CEST GIA DOST Regional Office IX, successfully led the “Native Roots, Resilient Communities” tree-planting event on December 6, 2024.
Held in Purok 5, Upper Latap, Limpapa, the initiative brought together 20 community members, AdZU representatives, ACES AdZU, and BLGU Limpapa to plant 100 endemic trees, marking a significant step towards fostering environmental sustainability and ecosystem resilience.
The focus on native tree species highlighted the importance of preserving local biodiversity and supporting reforestation efforts tailored to the region’s ecological needs.
