ADZU launches Centennial Documentary

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University will launch a video featuring the university’s centennial celebration. The video will be made public on March 17, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Learning Resource Center Building Garden of the university’s La Purisima Campus.

The launching will feature three videos: one featuring the making of the documentary, a teaser, and finally, the full documentary.
The centennial institutional ad is the official video of the three-year Centennial celebration which will culminate in 2012. It will also be the university’s tool for the promotion of Ateneo’s legacy, historical landmarks, present values, and vision for the future.

The video project began October 2009 and involved all the units and departments of the university. The ADZU Centennial Ad Team was created to conceptualize, produce, shoot, and edit the videos. The team is composed of the Digital Chimera Productions assisted by the Department of Mass Communication. Edgardo Lorenzo Baños, Masscomm Department Chair and Head of the ADZU Centennial Committee acts as the team’s consultant. The project coordinator is Mary Rose Jean C Andrada, a faculty member of the School of Liberal Arts.

Digital Chimera Productions is an independent video producer contracted by the university to be the creative team in charge of the video. Alistaire Christian Chan, director of the documentary and Dexter Dela Peña, videographer and editor, set up Digital Chimera after graduating from the university’s Mass Communication program last year. Chan and Dela Peña were assisted by Julius Cezar Alejandro.

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University will turn 100 years old on 2012. Its three year celebration, which began in 2009, celebrates the theme “Excellence, Spirituality, and Citizenship”.
