The university community comes together for their shared love of books and the spirit of Compañerismo.
The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Fr Jose T Bacatan SJ Library launched the 17th University Book Fair on September 2, 2025, at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall (CDCH), Fr Ernesto Carretero, SJ (FEC) Building, Salvador Campus.
This is a yearly library event where publishers from around the country showcase their products and offer a wide selection of titles and literary works for the AdZU community. With the theme “Book Fair in the Spirit of Compañerismo: Building Bridges through Books”, attendees browsed through each of the publishers’ collections finding new titles to add to their reading list.
Welcoming messages and words of gratitude were shared by the University President Fr Ernald M Andal, SJ, the FJTB Library Director Ms Lynnie Calingacion, and the event’s special guest the CHED Program Supervisor II for Education Dr Jo-Anne Cuaresma.
To formally open the book fair, a ceremonial cutting of the ribbon was done by the event’s main guests followed by the blessing rites presided by the University Chaplain Fr Alberto “Tex” Paurom, SJ.
Participating in this year’s University Book Fair are the following: Belview Company, C & E Publishing Inc, EESM Book Store, F & J De Jesus, Inc, Great Books Trading, Megatext Phils, New Century Books and General Merchandise, and Super Pages Trading.
The book fair runs from September 2 to 4, 2025, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
