I am pleased to introduce Fr Guillrey Anthony Andal of the Society of Jesus. As the president of the university, Fr Ernald remains committed to fostering a culture of inclusive communication and a community focused on just leadership and Ignatian discernment.

Lovingly called “Ernald” by family, friends and the AdZU community, Fr Ernald entered the Society of Jesus in 2003 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2014. As a student, Fr Ernal has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management Economics (Cum Laude, 1998), a Bachelor of Sacred Theology from the Loyola School of Theology (Summa Cum Laude, 2014); and a Masters in Pastoral Ministry from Ateneo de Manila University (2015).

He has held various positions in different institutions, including being a school director, assistant parish priest, and executive director of Jesuit Music Ministry. He is also a board of trustee of Sacred Head School – Ateneo de Cebu and Ateneo de Naga University. He has a Doctor of Educational Leadership for Social Justice degree from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, California, USA, and his dissertation was titled, “Leading from the Margins: The Educational Leadership Experiences of Jesuit Directors of Mission Schools in the Philippines and the Implications for the Leadership Formation of Filipino Jesuits.”

Fr Ernald is dedicated to continuing the Jesuit mission of providing quality education guided by Filipino, Catholic, and Jesuit values. Aside from his impressive academic background, Fr Ernald also nurtures creative pursuits through music. An educator, a musician, a leader.
