On February 20, 2026, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) Grade School faculty and staff gathered at the Grade School Library, Kreutz Campus, for their Friday Teacher Formation Session, which featured a discussion on the Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC).

The session highlighted key themes of human dignity, freedom for excellence, and solidarity, values that closely resonate with the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm and the University’s commitment to holistic learner formation. The conversation invited educators to reflect on how these principles can continue to shape classroom practice and values education within the Grade School unit.
Prior to the formation session, an opportunity was provided to briefly present the Human Dignity Curriculum to Sir Jeffrey “JJ” O. Jalani, Vice President for Basic Education, Ma’am Elena Segurinan, Grade School Principal, and Ma’am Sheryl Caguioa, Assistant Principal for Formation and Community Extension. The discussion opened initial conversations on strengthening values formation initiatives within the unit.

The engagement was facilitated in partnership with the World Youth Alliance (WYA), with Mr. Lord Leomer Pomperada, Human Dignity Curriculum Expansion Director (Philippines), leading the session. The presentation introduced the foundations of the curriculum and shared insights from its implementation in schools locally and internationally.
ALTEC expresses its appreciation to the AdZU Grade School leadership and faculty for the opportunity to join the formation session and for the openness demonstrated in the shared reflection on formation and mission.
