MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
RE :CREATION OF THE OFFICE FOR ADVANCEMENT
Institutional sustainability is
one of our strategic goals in the five-year strategic plan (ADZUSTRATPLAN17/22). To achieve this, a
University structure for advancement, fund-generation, and donor relations is
needed.
Thus, as an initial but vital
step, I am creating the Office for
Advancement (OFA) as adjunct to
the Office of the President which shall have the following mandates:
1) To
strategize and implement activities related to the advancement of the
University in institutional sustainability and viability;
2) To
coordinate rebuilding and fundraising initiatives and provide clerical,
logistical support to the Assistant to
the President for Rebuilding, and the Assistant
to the President for Analytics and Planning; and,
3) To
work closely with the Vice President for Administration Office, Finance Office,
Physical Plant Office, Alumni Relations Office, the Physical Facilities
Council, and working committees on matters related to the construction of the
new SHS building and other future construction projects.
I
thank MS TRICIA MAE D MANULONG for
generously making herself available to serve as Administrative Assistant; her
work shall be crucial in establishing this new office. I also thank MS CAMILLE LUCILLE A BELLO who shall
assist in fundraising and donor relations as Communications Officer.
In a
related development, the Gallery of the Peninsula and Archipelago (GPA) shall
now be fully subsumed by the Ateneo Center for Culture and Arts (ACCA) and
managed by its director, MR MARCO ALFINO V MIRANDA. Thus, I thank Ms Manulong
for her pioneering contribution to the establishment of the Gallery as
coordinator for seven years (2007-2011, 2014-2017) and as director of the
defunct Center for Performing and Visual Arts for three years (2011-2014).
I
thank the OFA Team of Engr Eugene S Kanindot, Mr Ralph Jorline M Chua, Manulong
and Ms Bello for their commitment and generosity to serve the University. I ask
the University Community for prayers, support and cooperation.
Thank
you.
FR KAREL S SAN JUAN SJ
University President
