ACLG conducts MLGP 1 for Batch 4 of ZamPen Municipal Leaders

The Ateneo Center for Leadership and Governance (ACLG), in partnership with the Zuellig Family Foundation, DOH Region 9, and USAID, conducted the Municipal Leadership and Governance Program for the fourth batch of Zamboanga Alliance participants on August 12-15, 2014 at Lantaka By the Sea Hotel, Zamboanga City.

Former DOH Secretary Esperanza Cabral graced the event by giving a talk on the Poor and their Healthcare Predicament on the first day of the workshop. Each municipality was represented by the Mayor, Municipal Health Officer (MHO), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO), and the Municipal Planning and Development Officer (MPDO). The eight participating municipalities were Buug, Dinas, Diplahan, Guipos, Gutalac, Mabuhay, Manukan and Titay. The DOH Representatives joined their respective assigned municipalities during the 4-days training.  On the second day of the training, the president of the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), Prof. Ernesto D. Garilao gave his message to the Municipal leaders, highlighting the importance of making interventions in the Maternal and Child care issues in their respective communities.

This is the fourth batch of MLGP Module 1 participants handled by the ADZU ACLG as the Academic Partner of the Program. The MLGP is composed of two modules plus practicum. Participants get academic credits from AdZU’s Graduate School for participating in the program.
