Campus Ministry facilitates Forum on Multiculturalism and Inter-Religious Understanding
The Campus Ministry, in coordination with the Silsilah Dialogue Movement, facilitated a forum with guest speaker Ms. Alissa Wahid, daughter of the former Indonesian president, on November 19, 2012 at the Campion Lecture Hall. Different faculty members, students, and other guests attended the said event.
Dubbed as “Forum on Multiculturalism and Inter-Religious Understanding”, the gathering aimed to serve as an avenue for sharing the challenges faced by Indonesia brought about by the diversity of cultures and the similar challenges faced by Zamboanga. Wahid also shared the steps taken by the GusDurian Network in working towards multiculturalism, inviting Zamboangeños to start doing the same. An open forum followed after the sharing.
Wahid is the head of the GusDurian Network, an organization formed to promote the philosophy and vision of the late Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid.
