Preschool Program
The program provides preschool education to children of poor families in a number of communities in the city. These are the communities of Aplaya, Poso, High School Zone and Asinan in Manicahan, Lower and Upper Lamisahan, Lower and Upper Victoria, and Canucutan.
From the program’s inception in 1988, more than 2000 preschoolers completed the preparatory education program. The program incorporates feeding for the preschoolers and vegetable gardening among parents in an effort to improve health condition of the children and their families.
The program thrives in strong parents’ support, and highly committed tutors. Grade schools in the area have reportedly found NFE graduates doing very well when they enroll in the first grade.
