The Social Awareness and Community Involvement (SACSI) volunteer’s program has again started with their Semestral Break Immersion Program or SBIP.This year, nineteen brave souls have passed the screening process and are now ready to experience it all. This nineteen people will have the chance to experience a life different from the one they got accustomed to. They will get to experience life in remote areas where they would learn many lessons in life that they would surely remember in their lifetime.
“Para sa makabuluhang sembreak” ,this is what Airrish Delgado, a 4th year Accountancy student answered when asked why she joined the immersion program. According to her, she considers this immersion a breathing time for her and a time away from all the stresses in school. She is also looking forward to gaining new experiences and new realizations through this program.
The application period for the SBIP started last September 12 until September 27 of this year. This was open to all students, faculty and staff of the university. The participants left last Thursday, October 18, 2012 for their BOS or Basic Orientation Seminar. They would be sent out to different areas on October 21, 2012.They will get to spend one week in the area. After that, a synthesis would be done on October 29 until October 30, 2012.
