Re-Implementation of Solid Waste Management Program

18 August 2011

MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY

RE: RE-IMPLEMENTATION OF SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

After due consultation, I would like to inform our community of some initiatives we are taking toward the re-implementation of our Solid Waste Management Program (SWMP).  We are not just simply redoing what has been done in the past in regard to SWMP.  We are indeed creating a culture that makes SWMP a way of life in AdZU.

Effective August 22, 2011, Monday, all AdZU faculty and staff are hereby requested to observe the following SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT scheme:

  1. 1.     Cleaning of all offices by the Physical Plant Personnel will be done three (3) times a week only– during Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This will allow more time for them to attend to “Hot Spot Areas” which need more attention.
  1. 2.     The occupants of each office shall be responsible for the clean-up of their respective offices on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday;

Effective September 1, 2011, the occupants of each office shall be responsible for the Management/segregation of their waste as follows:

TYPE OF WASTE

WHERE TO BRING (at the end of each day)

…to be brought home

Please do the shredding once a week or as needed using the shredding machines at the above-mentioned shredding areas.

Let us remind each other to observe these practices.  The task to make AdZU cleaner and greener is a never-ending one.  The few initiatives above are the first steps to take in this long journey.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
