RE: ADZU BOT MEMBER ATTY JOSE MANUEL S MAMAUAG NAMED CHR (COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS) COMMISSIONER
I am very delighted to inform our community that AdZU BoT member Atty Jose Manuel S Mamauag, former CHR Regional Director for Region 9, was appointed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as CHR Commissioner. Atty Mamauag was recently elected as AdZU Corporation and BoT member in February 2009. He assumed the CHR Commissioner office last 21 April 2009.
Atty Mamauag, born in Iligan City, is a known human rights Lawyer having been an OIC of the CHR Regional Office from 1993 to 1998, and Regional Director from 1998 until he was appointed CHR Commissioner.
He continues to be part of AdZU BoT while assuming his post as CHR Commissioner.
