YOUNG ATENEANS’ SCIENCE EDUCATORS
Vision
A civic-oriented, co-curricular club of the Science Department, the Young Ateneans’ Science Educators is a society of young men and women who are equipped with science concepts and skills that strengthens the orientation of the public understanding of Science and Technology.
Mission
- Provide learning opportunities that are challenging, fun, and interesting that will facilitate the understanding of science concepts and skills.
- To establish linkages with other schools and communities that will lead to develop the value of effective communication skills in dealing with people, and collaborative skills while engaging in tutorial classes.
SMART (Science and Math Advancement for Relevant Technology) is one of the High School’s outreach activities catering to Grade 5 pupils from selected public schools in the city. The SMART PROGRAM aims to develop student clients’ appreciation for science concepts where they themselves do hands-on activities and be given access to school facilities. The program runs for about 8 months. The facilitators of the program include the science teachers and members of the Young Ateneans’ Society of Educators.
