Last June 24, 2011, the 6 US Ambassador’s scholars were introduced to US Ambassador to the Philippines, Harry K. Thomas Jr. durng a program to turn over donated refrigerators for vaccines for the ARMM held at the Regional Health Office IX , Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City.
Fr. Antonio F. Moreno, SJ, Ateneo de Zamboanga University President, introduced the scholars: Fatiya Abubakar, Nurwaylid I. Askalani, Fatima Rona S. Halud, Al Basher Julhamid, Jayzhar N. Ismael and Dhen Michael Manon-og to the ambassador and to the public in general.
These scholars were chosen from around 60 applicants from the provinces of Basilan, Sulu and TawiTawi, who met the basic standards set by the scholarship.
