MEMO TO:THE ATENEO DE ZAMBOANGA UNIVERSITY (ADZU) COMMUNITY
RE: TUITION & FEES ARRANGEMENTS DUE TO THE ZAMBOANGA CRISIS
Recognizing that the crisis here in Zamboanga City has affected all of us in various ways and at different levels, Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) shall implement the following arrangements relevant to the collection of tuition and fees:
1. DISCOUNT ON CERTAIN MISCELLANEOUS FEES
Discount on fees for all levels shall be computed on Athletics, Library, and Facilities Development Fees.
2. 50% LESS ON DOWNPAYMENT
Down payment for 2nd semester enrolment in the Colleges, Graduate School, College of Law, and School of Medicine shall be 50% less. Example: if the regular down payment is Ps 5,000.00, it shall be Ps 2,500.00 only during the second semester enrolment.
3. EXTENSION OF DUE DATES FOR PROMISSORY NOTES
Due dates for Promissory Notes shall be extended from the usual one month to two months.
4. SCHEDULE OF TUITION AND FEES COLLECTION
With tuition and fees as the only source of funds, AdZU expects millions in lost revenues due to the Zamboanga crisis considering that there are institutional obligations that the University has to comply with (whether we hold classes or not) like the salaries and wages of our faculty, staff and contractual employees. We also project a drop in our enrolment for the 2nd semester. Despite the expected loss, AdZU shall support its students whose houses were burned or damaged through some tuition subsidies and/or scholarships.
In order to sustain our financial position, the following is the schedule of tuition and fees collection:
a). Grade School:
October 14-18, 2013 — Second Quarter Collection
October 21-22, 2013 – Release of Report Cards
b). High School: October 28-31, 2013 — Second Quarter Collection
c). Higher Education (Colleges, Graduate School, College of Law, & School of Medicine) :
October 14-18, 2013 – Clearance Period for First Semester
October 28-31, 2013: Second Semester enrolment
As a community, let us continue to pray for a long term solution to this crisis situation in our City with the intercession of Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar. God Bless!
