SACSI conducts training on Essential Frameworks on Children, Childhood, and Children’s rights

The Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) office through its Mindanao Emergency Response Network (MERN) and Save the Children organized a Training on Essential Frameworks on Children, Childhood and Children’s rights. It is one of the major activities of the project entitled “Strengthening Capacities of Local Civil Society Networks on Child Rights-Based Humanitarian Response and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)” in the ZamPenBaSulTa Region.

The aim of the workshop was to lecture and train the members of the MERN about “Strengthening Capacities of Local Civil Society Network s on Child Rights – Based Humanitarian Response and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)”. It will also strengthen the capacity of local CSO to mainstream children’s right in their area.

The workshop had two roll outs. It was held on August 8-10, 2012 at the Marcian Business Hotel and on August 22 – 24, 2012 at Jardin de La Viña Hotel, Zamboanga City. It was attended by 13 participants, which include teachers, community program officers, and staff from different partners of MERN.
