RE: Message for Ramadan
Peace be with you all.
As the sacred season of Ramadan begins, I take this opportunity to express my sincere support for and solidarity with our Muslim community at the university.
Ramadan is a time of profound spiritual significance for our Muslim brothers and sisters as they fast and pray to immerse themselves in deep spiritual reflection, rejuvenation, and self-discipline.
During this sacred time, we stand in solidarity with our Muslim community in AdZU, recognizing the value of this period of devotion and sacrifice.
As members of our AdZU community, we embrace inclusivity and welcome the chance to share and celebrate one another’s cultures and beliefs. Let us then continue to reaffirm our dedication to interreligious dialogue and understanding. It is through mutual respect and eagerness to learn from one another that we find great value in diversity and create strong interconnected and compassionate relationships.
As a Catholic and Jesuit insititution in WEstern Mindanao, we consistently advocate for unity and empathy, and I believe that extending our support to our Muslim friends during Ramadan is a significant way to live out our AdZU mission.
On behalf of Ateneo de Zamboanga University, I greet our Muslim students, colleagues, and friends a blessed and peaceful Ramadan.
