As part of the centennial celebration of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga from April 2010 to April 2011, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) published La Parroquia: The Catholic Church in Zamboanga 1910-2010, in honor of her being the mother diocese of the Church of Mindanao to commemorate her rich history. Written by Zamboanga scholars, Aireen Barios-Arnuco, PhD and Ma. Christina Cañones, the coffee-table book was successfully launched in Zamboanga last December 20, 2011 by ADZU under the initiative of its president, Fr. Antonio Moreno, SJ.
This year, the ADZU together with Jesuit Communications (JesCom) would like to hold a Manila book launch of the coffee-table book to reach a wider audience and share the beautiful beginnings of Catholicism in Zamboanga; with special guests, (then) Zamboanga Archbishop Romulo Valles, DD, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle, DD, STD, and Provincial Superior of the Society of Jesus, Fr. Jose Cecilio Magandia, SJ. This event will take place on March 16, 2011, 3pm at the Casa Blanca, Plaza San Luis Complex in Intramuros, Manila.
