RE: GUIDELINES AND SECURITY MEASURES FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2014-2015

Greetings of Peace.

The Ateneo Grade School welcomes all to School Year 2014-2015 with its start of classes on June 9, 2014.

As preparation for the school year, we would like to inform you of the following measures intended to maintain order and keep maximum security on campus.

I. CLASS SCHEDULE

The grade school will resume its regular WHOLE DAY CLASS SCHEDULE as follows:

Level                                         AM Schedule/Session                                PM Schedule/Session

Preschool                                        8:00 to 10:30                                      1:00 to 3:30
Kindergarten                                  8:00 to 11:00                                      1:00 to 4:00
Grades I & II                                    7:30 to 10:50                                      1:10 to 3:10
Grade III                                           7:30 to 11:30                                      1:10 to 3:20
Grades IV to VI                                7:30 to 11:40                                      1:10 to 4:00

II. DROP – OFF and PICK-UP

The University shall continue to observe the NO DRIVE-THRU POLICY. The Drop-Off and Pick-up of students will be along:

(a) La Purisima Street:  two Grade School gates are designated for drop-off/pick-up,  the
old gate and a new one near the new guard house

(b) Nuñez Street:  through Gate 5 near MPCC

Discussions with the City Traffic Management about the impact on traffic of the pick-up and drop-off points are currently being pursued by the University Security in coordination with the undersigned.

III. STRICT COMPLIANCE of DepEd ORDER NO. 11, S. 2011 section 159 on
CAMPUS SECURITY

The above order stipulates that “only bonafide students of the school shall be allowed in the school campus. NO VISITORS, including parents, guardians or tutors shall be allowed inside the campus during and after school hours except for valid reasons with prior approval of the Unit Head”. The University shall strictly implement this order.

IV. STUDENTS’ RECESS AND LUNCH GUIDELINES

Without disregard to the compliance of the above DepEd order, a special school arrangement is designed for the lunch needs of grades I–III students.

  • ONE (1) ADULT (parent/guardian/yaya) will be allowed to assist his/her child/ward during lunch in the student’s respective classroom from 11:00 to 12:00 for grades I & II and 11:30 to 12:30 for grade III.

It is necessary that complete lunch meal be prepared by the parents as access to canteen for purchase of food/drinks  will not be allowed for the parent/guardian/yaya.

  • Grades IV to VI – Students in these levels are encouraged to take their lunch by themselves in their respective classrooms with their respective moderators.

  • Homeroom Recess for Grade I to III – Students in these levels must come to school bringing with them their food for recess.

We hope for your full cooperation on the above guidelines for a safe, secure, orderly and conducive campus for optimum learning for your children.
