Setting the standard of counseling profession in the region, the College Guidance and Counseling Office is set to hold the 5th Regional Conference on Counseling on October 8 to 10, 2009 with the theme “Affirming the School Counselor’s Role in Student Achievement.”
CGCO Director Estesa Xaris C Que-Legaspi said that the office has been hosting the Regional Conference on Counseling for five years in line with the university’s core vision of intellectual leadership.
Dr. Imelda Virginia G Villar, the president of the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association (PGCA) Incorporated will be the resource speaker of the conference.
Que-Legaspi also said that their intention is to establish the role and contribution of CGCO in the development of the school counseling profession in Region IX. Que-Legaspi recognizes the need of the counselor-practitioner in their various work settings, pushing for the upgrading and updating of counselor competencies.
