Exploratory Meeting Between AdZU NSTP-LTS and DepEd ALS: A Step Towards Collaborative Educational Initiatives

On October 14, 2024, an important Exploratory Meeting took place between the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) Office, the Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC), and the Department of Education – Alternative Learning System (DepEd-ALS). Held at the recipient’s office, this meeting aimed to identify potential areas for collaboration between the Ateneo NSTP-Literacy Training Service (LTS) component and ALS in the city for the Second Semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss how the ADZU NSTP-LTS program, which focuses on community service and literacy training for underserved communities, could partner with ALS to extend its educational reach to out-of-school youth and adults. ALTEC contributed its expertise in educational development, particularly in enhancing teaching strategies and integrating digital learning tools to further support the collaboration.

The key objective of the session was to lay the groundwork for a sustainable partnership that would address learning gaps in the city, promote lifelong learning, and create inclusive educational opportunities for marginalized sectors. The collaboration between SACSI, ALTEC, and ALS is expected to not only benefit the learners but also empower the community by creating an educational environment built on engagement, innovation, and accessibility.

This meeting marks an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to provide quality education and literacy development to underserved populations. The partnership’s vision is to ensure that all learners, regardless of background or age, are given the tools they need to succeed academically and in life.

We look forward to the successful implementation of this collaboration and the positive impact it will have on the city’s educational landscape.
