CITS, College Outreach and CCES collaboration for the implementation of the Barangay Database System

CITS, College Outreach, and CCES collboration for the implementation of the Barangay Database System

The ADZU Center for Community Extension Services (CCES), in partnership with the College Outreach Department led by Mr Emir Epino and the Center for Information Technology Services (CITS), identified partner barangays to avail of the installation of the Barangay Database System.

A year ago, the Center for Information and Technology Services developed a software system called the Barangay Database System that could aid the local barangays. The system basically has the functions of recording and retrieval of data. With the Barangay Database system, barangays could have the capacity to automate all of their services to the community, thereby having access to some of the pertinent information that may be needed in their development plans. On May 2 2014 the following east coast barangays were identified as recipients of the pilot testing –  Victoria, Manicahan, Lamisahan, Bunguiao, Dulian-Upper Bunguiao, and Bolong. The CITS will field 2-3 trainers for each barangay for the installation and training of the barangay personnel who will be handling the software.

The vision is to expand the program by including CCES’ partner barangays as well.
