CCES Distributes Relief Goods and Hygiene Kits to Badjao Families
The Center for Community Extension Services distributed relief goods and hygiene kits to 681 of the 819 Badjao IDPs in RT Lim Boulevard on April 1, 2014. This was made possible through the partnership with the Cartwheel Foundation who provided the relief goods. The hygiene kits were provided by SACSI office. Fifty (50) families also received canvas aside from the kits.
Present during the distribution were the Cartwheel Representatives Ms Veronica Tarabi and Ms Rhodora Jurado who flew in from Manila for the activity. The DSWD field officers also assisted in the distribution of the goods. This activity is in line with the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Quick Response Team’s effort to assist in the recovery and rehabilitation of the victims during the 2013 Zamboanga Siege.
CCES and the Cartwheel Foundation are also developing an education project dubbed as “Angiskul Ma Bangka” for the Badjao kids. This is set to be implemented this year.
