The Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Luzon and Visayas areas. Luzon still experiences occasional rains becoming frequent in the Western section of the Island that may trigger flashflood and landslides. At present, around 267, 850 families or 1, 230, 813 persons have been affected by the flood from Regions I, II, IV A, IV B and NCR (NDRRMC, August 8, 2012).
Considering this situation, we would like to enjoin everyone in the community to once again respond to a call for help from our people. We have proven ourselves in our unselfish support in various occasions when different areas of our country needed our quick response. Thus, the Emergency Response Team of the University lead by SACSI office would like to solicit any amount that you can extend to the affected people in Luzon. The collective amount raised will then be forwarded to Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan of the Ateneo de Manila University. Together with this, we would also accept the following items:
* Personal care items
* NEW Undergarments,
* Hygiene products (sanitary napkin, bath soap etc.)
* NEW Blankets and Towels
* Baby products (clothings, diapers etc.)
Our office will receive donations within this week or you may directly deposit your donations to the finance office. For in kind, the Ateneo High School through Ms. Ruth Guerrero will also facilitate the receipt of your donations. For more inquiries, you may call our local number at 2224 or 2225.
