AdZU (ALTEC & SEd), DepEd and MEMBA commence Leaders and Innovators Geared Toward High-Impact Transformation (LIGHT) Teacher Fellowship program

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University, through the Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC) and the School of Education (SED), in partnership with the Department of Education Region 9 (DepEd IX) and the Mindanao Educators Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (MEMBA), is proud to announce the ongoing activities of the Leaders and Innovators Geared Toward High-Impact Transformation (LIGHT) program.

The journey began with an engaging orientation on August 10, 2024, attended by the School of Education (SEd) alongside the LIGHT participants. During this event, attendees were warmly welcomed to the LIGHT program, creating an uplifting atmosphere that highlighted the significance of collaboration and community among educators.

Following this kickoff, the implementation of CEA 1 – Educational Leadership and Organization commenced immediately, guided by the expertise of Ms. Perla “Arlene” S. Ledesma. The sessions unfolded over the following dates: August 10-11, August 17, and August 24-25, 2024. Educators from across the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga City, Dapitan City, and Jolo, Sulu, are gathered here for this momentous event to discuss and mark the commencement of the LIGHT Classes and ready to step in the journey on their path toward earning the Certificate in Educational Administration (CEA). This foundational course not only marked the beginning of their educational journey but also reinforced their commitment to professional growth and excellence in education. Under Ms. Ledesma’s leadership, participants are forging connections and building a vibrant community of lifelong learners dedicated to making a positive impact in their schools and communities.

Building on the foundations established in CEA 1, the commencement of CEA 7 – Educational Policies and Laws took place on September 7-8, 2024 and continues with sessions on September 14, and September 21-22, 2024. Led by Renee Vieve “Ivie” Vecina-Kanindot, this module explores crucial policies and legislative frameworks that are shaping the future of education. Participants are gaining valuable insights and tools to drive transformative change within educational systems.

The LIGHT program remains dedicated to cultivating leadership and innovation for meaningful societal change. The classes provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to drive high-impact transformation. LIGHT nurtured a dynamic and interactive learning environment. As we continue on this journey, we are confident that the dedication and engagement of our participants will lead to meaningful contributions and advancements in the field of education. Together, we are nurturing a culture of excellence that benefits countless students and educators.
