Tumaga, ZC▬Ateneo de Zamboanga University High School sets heads high to the month of September with a blast as it commences with the launching of two National Celebrations; National Science Club Month and National Literacy month held last September 1, 2014 in the same institution.

The program started when the audiences’ eyes were pulled toward the Greek gods and goddesses of ACE-4 class handled by Mr. Ramssys Andaya as they were wearing costumes of the above mentioned Greek divinities. It was succeeded by the presentation of the Science Mascots of Grade 7 classes which were handled by Mrs. Ailyn Enojarda and Mrs. Julie Ann Malcampo.

Mr. Jeffrey DC Barrera and Ms. Evelyn Q Bugayong, the chairpersons of Science and English Department respectively, collaborate to the effort of planning elated activities not only for the students, but with the inclusion of the faculty and staff as activities comprise their involvement. These are made possible by the joint efforts of the administration of the unit plus the buoyant effort of the teachers both in the Science and English Department. The announcement of schedules of activities was done on the same milieu.

National Science Month observes the theme “Immunation: Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses Toward National Wellness” which emphasizes the conjunction of the terms “ammunition” and “immunization” hence “immunation” aiming to let science clubbers be armed with ample knowledge regarding diseases and share them to their community achieving national awareness on healthful defenses toward wellness.

The Literacy Month observes the theme “Literacy for Sustainable Development” which underscores the need of wider understanding for progress and its consistency in the entire population. This is attainable by admonishing our people to read and widen their horizon toward awareness and understanding of myriad things.

The launching of the two National Celebrations went well as Faculty, Staff, and students anticipate a fun-filled month were literacy about many things, which include having ample knowledge on diseases, and having the motivation to learn, prevail.
