Ateneo comes to the forefront anew as it gears for a ‘vital’ role in the forthcoming 2010 elections through its participation in the Parish Pastoral Council for responsible Voting or the PPCRV.
This after former election watchdog, Namfrel merged with PPCRV as it prepares to actively involve itself in poll duties anew.
The merger happened after ADZU Namfrel Thru Fr. Antonio F. Moreno, SJ and PPCRV through City Archbishop Romulo Valles agreed to join forces along with other cause oriented groups to reorganize PPCRV for the forthcoming polls.
PPCRV Vice Chair Francis Arroyo said the main focus this election is voters education and poll watch duties for the church-based watchdog.
ADZU for its part is currently recruiting volunteers through its SACSI Office to serve during the forthcoming May polls. PPCRV is seeking Comelec accreditation for poll watch duties.
ADZU is also being tapped to become the communication center of PPCRV which will be headquartered at Centro Pastoral.
