The Ateneo Research Center (ARC) conducted the Research Mentoring Seminar last June 26, 2012 at the LRC Conference Room. With Fr. Albert “Paring Bert” Alejo, SJ as the resource speaker, twenty faculty members with experience in research advising attended the event.
The seminar on research mentoring was the first of its kind in the Ateneo de Zamboanga University. The goal of the seminar was to allow research advisers to share and learn from their experiences in research mentoring as well as to acquire some tips on how to improve with their work as mentors. Fr. Alejo spoke about genuine care, showing respect, being available, and having a solid personal relationship with mentees as important considerations in research mentoring.
