MEMO TO: THE ADZU COMMUNITY
RE: APPOINTMENT OF FR MARLITO G OCON, SJ AS CHAIR OF PHYSICAL FACILITIES COUNCIL (PFC)
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Fr Marlito G Ocon, SJ as Chair of the University Physical Facilities Council (PFC) effective December 1, 2013 to March 31, 2016. He replaces Mr Roberto G Valerio. Fr Ocon is concurrently the Chaplain for Basic Education of AdZU. He is a licensed civil engineer, having graduated with BS Civil Engineering batch 1994 in Holy Name University, Tagbilaran, Bohol. Before he entered the Society of Jesus in 1999, Fr Ocon was involved in the construction of the engineering building of Holy Name University and later worked as Ship Design Engineer at Tsuneishi and Hashihama shi-building in Japan. Before his assignment in AdZU, he was the parish priest of Culion, Palawan and Head/Treasurer of Loyola College of Culion.
As Chair of the Physical Facilities Council, Fr Ocon will supervise the strategic and operations management and planning of University logistics, supplies, construction projects, maintenance, environmental sustainability, and campus master planning. He will work closely with the University Physical Plant Office (PPO) and the Purchasing and Custodian Office (PCO). He will directly report to the University President.
I would like to thank Fr Ocon for accepting this responsibility. I would also like to thank Mr Valerio for leading the PFC as its chair and convenor during the period 2011-2013.
