The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Alumni Association (ADZUAA) headed by its new president, Edwin N Makasiar together with Mr Antoinio “Butch” M Blanco, chair of the Golf Tournament Committee turned over a part of the proceeds of the 14th ADZUAA Annual Golf Tournament in partnership with Siu Hua Yu Memorial/Pan Kada Dia to the Office of Scholarships on January 30, 2012 at the President’s Conference Room, Ateneo de Zamboanga University. Present to receive the donation were Antonio F Moreno, SJ, President, Ateneo de Zamboanga University and Mr Conrado Z Balatbat, Director , Office of Scholarships. The tournament, aside from raising funds for the activities of the ADZUAA, also aimed to raise funds to support the “Siu Hua Yu Memorial/Pan Kada Dia” project of the Office of Scholarships, a food subsidy program that intends to provide nourishment to college students who could hardly afford to buy at least one decent meal. In the past five (5) years, the program was able to provide sustenance to an average of 40 students per day from Monday to Saturday. The partnership between the AdZUAA and the Siu Hua Yu Memorial/Pan Kada Dia began two years ago.
