Ateneo de Zamboanga University landed second runner-up in the 6th National Intercollegiate Genetics Quiz Contest held on November 7, 2015 at the Umali Auditorium, SEARCA, UP Los Baños (UPLB), Laguna.
The ADZU team comprised of fourth year BS Biology students, namely: Fathima M.Z. Ahmed Kabeer, Lorenzo Gabriel C. Limbaga, and Francis B. Aquino. They were coached by Jocelyn D. Partosa, PhD of the Natural Sciences Department.
The contest was participated by eleven (11) teams from different universities all over the country. The contestants battled three (3) rounds: the Individual Exam Round, the Initiation-Elongation Round, and the Termination Round. The contingent with the most number of accumulated points from each round was declared winner. UP Baguio got first place and Ateneo de Manila University came out first runner-up.
The event was sponsored by the UPLB Genetics Society.
