Ateneo de Zamboanga University – Junior High School (AdZU-JHS) held its annual Club Recruitment Day last June 25, 2016 at the JHS Lobby.

Every year, a Club Recruitment Day is held for students to join new clubs or organizations. Gerald Ace Wee, COL President, and Kim Heart Quimson, COL Secretary served as Masters of Ceremony. The program began with a prayer led by Kaitlin Eira Kibtiani, Grade 8 Representative, and Ben Nadzmier Bensali, Grade 9 Representative. Compania Musica del Aguilas subsequently led the singing of the National Anthem and the Zamboanga Hermosa. Fr. Stephen T. Abuan, JHS Principal, then gave his Welcome Address.

This was followed by the viewing of the different Club Clusters’ video presentations. The Battle of the Clubs came next where the different clubs gave their best cheers. A one-hour break was given from 9:00-10:00AM for the different clubs and organizations to set up their respective booths. The Club Fair ran from 10:00-11:30AM as students lined up in the booths of the clubs they wanted to join. A student can join up to three clubs, and only one club per cluster. After the recruitments closed, the COL awarded the winners of the different competitions. The Communication & Publications Cluster won the Best Video Presentation award, there was a tie in the Best Booth award between the Communications and Publications Cluster and the Aesthetic Cluster, and the Compania Musica del Aguilas won the Battle of the Clubs with Punlaan and the Young Ateneans’ Science Educators (YASEd) tied in second place, and Young Christian Life Community in third place. Ms. Sheirhana Salialam, SAP and Social Action Coordinator then gave a closing statement for the event.
