AdZU JHS conducts Environmental Leadership Camp

The Science Cluster of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School (AdZU JHS) conducted a three-day school based Environmental Leadership Camp spanning from February 1-3, 2019.

The event was held at the Fr. William H. Kreutz, SJ (FWHKSJ) campus at the JHS building, with students from different grade levels and schools coming together for the event. It worked under the theme CONVERGENCE: “Youth Leaders working toward Sustainable Project for the Environment”, emphasizing the significance of school-based projects that will be done by the club officers in their respective school.

The Environmental Leadership Camp also developed a lifetime of commitment from each participant through means of doing sustainable projects that aim to protect, conserve, rehabilitate, and promote any natural resource their school or the nearby vicinity of their location has in order to benefit the present and future generations.

This leadership camp was held in pursuant to Republic Act No. 9512, the Environmental Awareness and Education Act of 2008, and Republic Act No. 9729, the Climate Change Act of 2009.
