AdZU hosts ‘A Time with Our Student Leaders’

Seventy-two (72) presidents and vice-presidents (or similar positional levels) participated in a core formation session on August 23, 2013. The event ‘A Time with Our Student Leaders was held at the PRC, BC Building, Fr. Eusebio Salvador SJ campus, Ateneo de Zamboanga University and was facilitated by the Office of the Student Affairs together with the Formation Office. The one-day activity is part of a formation program for our young leaders where it is hoped that they become good leaders with hearts and conscience ready to be of service to others.

Fr. Marlito G Ocon SJ, Chaplain for Basic Education opened the day with an enlightening session on Ignatian Spirituality. Fr. Wilfredo M Samson SJ, OIC-President shared what it means to be an Atenean and a leader in his talk on the Ateneo Brand of Leadership. Fr. Albert E Alejo SJ, Assistant to the President for Social Development meanwhile delivered a practical and visionary session on Leadership by Partnership.

The event was facilitated by a group of young men and women led by the Ateneo Student Leaders Assembly (ASLA) alumni Mr Glenn William S Acala and Mr. Gerardo Luis C Dimaguila. The ASLA alumni provided transitions between sessions and gave a synthesis at the end. They were generously assisted by Ms Queenie G Raval, Ms. Lei Anne B Palermo, Ms. Christine C Yu, Mr. Ernesto Dennis A Dimaguila and Mr. Yves Xaviery S Valero. The Ateneo Liturgical Society graced the program with a doxology, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the Zamboanga Hermosa.
