ADZU FFP launches a
Computer Literacy Program for High School students

Over 40 students from Sanggali National High School were
invited to  the Ateneo de Zamboanga University to be part of the ‘FFP
Project: Turo’ on the 13th and 20th of September 2014. The project was
organized by the FFP 101-B students of Mr. Rector Nodado.

The project was initially the idea of both Mr. Nodado
and Mrs. Maria Veronica Wenceslao of Sanggali National High School to teach the
students about computer literacy and its relevance to their future journey in
life.

The first session was held on September 13 at the Grade School computer
laboratory which started from 8 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon. The
first session was about all the basics of the computer and the introduction to
Microsoft Word. In between sessions, the students were given a short break and
snacks provided by Mr. Nodado.

The second and last session was on September 20 an introduction to the
internet. The students were given lectures about the basics of the internet and
its uses. They were taught some search engines and emails for future
references. They were also asked to make their own, personalized bio-data using
the Microsoft Word. 10 students with the most creative bio-data were chosen and
given a prize.

At the end of the session, the students of SNHS
surprised the FFP students and Mr. Nodado with their heart-warming and overwhelming
performance of the song titled “Ikaw”, to express their gratitude to
their ‘ates’ and ‘kuyas’ who guided and assisted them throughout the program.

“Do this for the kids. Yes i know, may grade kayong makukuha aftrer nito.
But this is more than that. This is about the kids.” – Sir Rector
